AWARD IN THE AMBERIF SELECTION 2022 COMPETITION FOR CHILLI IRENEUSZ GLAZA

For the second time, I have become a laureate of the AMBERIF SELECTION contest – this time for a spectacular fountain pen made of Baltic amber, resulting from the combination of traditional jewelry craftsmanship with the latest 3D technologies.

The competition jury appreciated the mastery of execution and the high level of design of the Eternal fountain pen made of Baltic amber, and in the AMBERIF SELECTION 2022 competition, awarded me the Prize of the Gdańsk International Fair Co.

The design of the fountain pen was created in a computer program, but its realization required not only modern tools but also knowledge of the goldsmith’s workshop. This was necessary, among other things, to manually set 248 cubic zirconia stones and properly polish and set 90 amber stones decorating the surface of the fountain pen. The scale of the work involved is better understood by the fact that the only elements of the fountain pen that were not designed and created in the workshop are… the 18-carat gold nib and the cartridges.

The work on the fountain pen took half a year of work and a lot of commitment. It was worth it! Not only for the award but above all for the spectacular effect. The fountain pen is not only a “jewelry gem” but also meets all the expectations placed on such writing instruments: it is ergonomic, thus comfortable to use, elegant, and – perhaps importantly in this case – eternal.
