AMBER SPHERE 2008 for the ring „Niecały biały”

This unique award, given by the students of the Fine Arts Academy in Łódź, went to the „Niecały biały” ring. The design was a collaboration with Prof. Sławomir Fijałkowski, executed by Ireneusz Glaza.

Students of the Jewelry Department at the Władysław Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź award the AMBER SPHERE to the best jewelry designs presented by exhibitors at the International Fair of Amber, Jewelry, and Gemstones Amberif. At the 15th edition of the world’s largest amber fair, they recognized the „Niecały biały” ring, realized in the S&A Project Studio, as the best design. The project was a collaboration with Prof. Sławomir Fijałkowski, and the execution is mine.

As the members of the Jury admitted, they were primarily captivated by the boldness of the form and the unusual combination of white natural amber and gold.

“The simplicity, almost monumentality of the ring refers to the archetypal form of jewelry. This jewelry looks just as good on the hand as it does as an independent sculptural form,” they justified their choice.

The „Niecały biały” ring also appealed to the jury of the Lifestyle Brands contest during the Inhorgenta Munich 2009 fair and the audience visiting the exhibition of Polish products and modern industrial design DESIGNED IN POLAND organized by PAIiIZ in Prague in 2012, where it received 2nd place in the audience contest for the most interesting exhibit of the exhibition.
