CHILLI IRENEUSZ GLAZA AT A JEWELRY EXHIBITION IN CHINA

In China, amber is particularly popular as a stone that brings luck. This is the main reason why it was the theme of the exhibition Beauty Frozen in Time, which promoted Poland in the Middle Kingdom on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of regaining independence.

At the exhibition opened in January, featuring Polish artistic jewelry and photographs of Polish UNESCO monuments in Guiyang, the capital of China’s Guizhou province, over 240 exhibits by 51 distinguished Polish artist-jewelers and professors and students from the Academies of Fine Arts in Łódź, Gdańsk, and Warsaw were presented. They show the evolution of jewelry style from the 1980s to contemporary times – with a special emphasis on the diversity of materials combined with amber.

The exceptional qualities of this exhibition are evidenced by the fact that it was listed among the most interesting cultural events in China in January immediately after its opening. At the same time, it is the largest exhibition of Polish jewelry in Asia to date. Its organizers are: the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Chengdu, the National Museum Branch of Guizhou Province, Sebastian Tajl (initiator and curator of the exhibition).

This is yet another stop of this exhibition in China – during its Chinese tour, it graced the opening of the Polish consulate in Chengdu and was shown as part of the Polish Pavilion in Yunan province, Polish Days in Kunming, and at the Chengdu Creativity & Design Week Industry Expo.
